Front of Grains Innovation Park

Entrance

  • Two dedicated accessible parking spaces are located directly in front of the Grains Innovation Park building.
  • The car park provides access to a wide, flat entryway leading into the building.
  • Entry is through two automatic glass doors, positioned approximately two metres apart.
  • The first automatic door is on the right and opens to the left; the second door is on the left and opens to the right.
  • A hand sanitizing station is situated between the two glass doors.
  • Both entry and exit doors feature contrast markings for improved visibility.

Reception

  • Upon entering the building, you will notice high ceilings.
  • A wide, clear space leads from the entrance to the reception area.
  • The reception service counter is located straight ahead, immediately beyond the entrance.
  • Pen and paper are available at the reception desk for exchanging information if needed.
  • If reception is unattended, please ring the bell located on the counter for assistance.
  • Guests and visitors are required to sign in upon arrival and sign out before leaving. Assistance is available if required — please don't hesitate to ask.
  • Brochures and other informational leaflets from the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action are located directly behind the reception desk.
  • The area is designed with clear, open spaces to allow easy navigation for all visitors.
  • Please note: there is a lizard housed in a glass enclosure located to the right-hand side of the reception area.

Common building features

  • The flooring throughout the building is carpeted, except in the toilet areas, which are tiled.
  • Lighting is consistent across all areas of the building.
  • Furniture, including tables and chairs, is movable to allow visitors to adjust seating arrangements according to their needs and personal space preferences. Please return furniture to its original position before leaving.
  • The building features level hallways and ramps for easy accessibility.
  • All ramps connecting different floor levels are fitted with handrails for added support and safety

Toilets

  • Upon entering the building, turn immediately left to access the accessible toilet. Signage is provided to assist with directions.
  • A Braille access sign is located on the toilet door.
  • The accessible toilet is equipped with a flip tap for ease of use.
  • A grab bar is installed on the left-hand side for additional support.

Kitchenette

  • A small kitchenette is available for visitors attending meetings or events.
  • The kitchenette is located on the lower ground floor. To access it, pass to the right of the reception area and continue up the ramp walkway, which is fitted with handrails.
  • At the top of the walkway, you will find an All-Gender toilet. Turn right and follow the ramp down — there is one sharp turn — to reach the lower level.
  • Alternatively, you can use a set of 4 steps, also equipped with handrails, to access the lower level.
  • The kitchenette is positioned along the left-hand wall.
  • The kitchenette bench is set at a lower height and is stocked with coffee sachets, sugar sachets, tea bags, and spoons on the countertop.
  • The hot water urn is stored inside a cupboard to the right of the bench and is positioned at a higher height.
  • A small fridge is located to the right of the bench at a lower-level height for easy access.

Emergency

  • In the event of an emergency, staff will assist and guide all visitors. If evacuation is required, visitors will be directed to the nearest exit and the designated assembly area.
  • Evacuation diagrams are displayed on the wall near the kitchenette toilets and in the reception hallway.
  • The Conference Centre Emergency Response procedure is also displayed in the Banksia meeting room.

  • Assistance animals are welcome on site. All assistance animals must be properly restrained.
  • Visitors are encouraged to bring a portable drinking bowl for their assistance animals. Staff will direct you to water filling stations and designated toilet break areas (see green spaces information below).
  • Companion Card holders are welcome. Please inform the event organiser in advance to confirm arrangements.
  • For visitors or participants attending external meetings, large format screens are available in our larger meeting rooms to enhance speaker visibility.
  • Priority seating can be arranged upon request. Please notify the event organiser to discuss your requirements.
