[Speaker: Sam Elliot]

I'm Sam Elliott and I'm currently in the Energy Group as a Renewal Energy Policy Officer.

[On screen text: What are some of the benefits of being a grad at DEECA?]

The biggest benefit to me is the whole concept of the rotations and having across the 2 years, 38 month rotations, it gives me a lot of time to really get to know the area I'm working with in and a chance to see different areas across the department.

In my first rotation I started in Earth Resources, which was very different to the current post I'm in at Energy.

So across just the last few months, I've I've been able to work in many different areas and then a third rotation coming up in a few more months, which will again give me a different perspective.

[On screen text: What are some of the challenges you have overcome?]

The biggest challenge for me coming into the programme was just getting used to working full time.

I've never previously worked the full in a full time role so that was a big challenge to overcome.

But throughout the programme, there's been a lot of supports and chances to, you know, develop that sort of routine and, and the everything you need to to be settled in in the role.
