A Major Event Review has been initiated to assess the impacts of the devastating 2019/20 bushfires on Victoria’s forests.
This review will involve assessments of forests in the RFA region, including on ground assessments of forest values within affected areas and a consideration of the wider impacts of the bushfires on the intended outcomes of the RFAs.
It is anticipated that the review will take between 12-18 months.

It provides for sustainable, active and adaptive forest management by identifying remedial actions for Victoria’s forests, following a major event.
The review is a new feature of the modernised Victorian RFAs.
